From the Dark Side--Judge Jackson Relented A Bit
and yesterday decided to allow more argument in the penalty phase of Microsoft's antitrust trial according to this CNN article. Judge Jackson originally refused to schedule an additional hearing requested by Microsoft on the effects of breaking up the company as proposed by the Justice Department and 17 states. Yesterday he issued a scheduling order permitting the government to comment on Microsoft's specific comments on the government's proposed penalty by the morning of June 5th and then giving Microsoft until June 7th to respond.
