is in its third beta release which has usually been the final beta for Microsoft software according to CNet. Windows Me is the DOS-based evolutionary successor to Windows 98. The consumer version of Windows NT-based Windows 2000 is pushed as much as 3 years into the future. According to CNet Windows Me will update the aging DOS to include recent advances in digital media features and include Mac OS 9/iMovie features like auto-updates and digital video editing. It is now clear that Mac OS X will be the first truly modern operating system for consumers as well as business.
