Initial Comment--"The Second Coming of Steve Jobs"

by Alan Deutschman. I received a signed copy (thanks Brian Nakamoto!) over the weekend and read about half of the book on yesterday's flight to and from Boston. Deutschman's book does not seem to be a hatchet job but it does focus squarely on Steve Jobs' the person in his personal and professional life. I can understand why Steve Jobs would be unhappy with such a detailed account of his personal life, whether precisely accurate or not--everybody has clay feet and no one likes to have them publicly exposed. It is a very entertainingly written book compiled largely from a zillion interviews with people who have known him closely over the years. There are also lots of very interesting passages on the history of Apple, NeXT and Pixar. $20.80 on Amazon.Com.
