New 466 MHz iBook SE Faster than PowerBook 400 MHz
according to a test by a reader posted yesterday on Accelerate Your Mac! Of course, the iBook's CPU is faster than the PowerBook's but the iBook's backside cache is smaller, 256K, than the PowerBook's at 1MB. However, the iBook's cache is on the CPU and runs at the speed of the CPU rather than on the CPU board running at half the speed of the CPU as in the PowerBook. The iBook's G3 CPU is the new IBM design.
