The Lisa (Mac) Interface Origin

is discussed in a 1989 unpublished paper by Rod Perkins, a member of the Lisa development team. The Lisa OS had multi-processing and protected memory according to the paper. We purchased an original Lisa to be our Institute's business computer when they first came out. It was fabulous for graphics and word processing. Dana Baggett wrote that he recalls that National Semiconductor (Faichild?) bought a bunch because of the project/program scheduling software. Anyway, the Lisa hooked many of us on the easy-to-use interface that later transformed into the Mac.
