Apple's Portal Now on Netscape Instead of Excite

according to this CNet article. When you open a web browser installed with a fresh installation of the Mac OS or on a new Mac it opens to a default portal. The portal was formerly hosted by Excite but now it is hosted by Netscape. [Dana Baggett]

Which Web Browsers are Used to Visit Macs Only!? Here is a comparison between visits during November of 2000 and 2001. Internet Explorer 5.0 has diminished from about 40 to 25 per cent. Netscape 4.7x, Explorer 5.5 and Netscape 4.5 have also diminished. Internet Explorer 5.1.x used with Mac OS X has increased substantially as has Netscape 6.x. There are no other major changes.
