Apple to be First with Fast FireWire and Fast USB

according to this article in The Register. Fast FireWire (1394b) has a rating of 800 mbps vs 400 mbps for the current specification. The specification for fast USB is 480 mbps rather than the current 12 mbps. The Register's unconfirmed report claims that these faster ports will be included with Apple hardware in early 2002.
