GarageBand Update 4.1.2 is available via Software Update for those who have iLife '08 installed. It is also available as a stand-alone updater from this Apple Web page. According to Apple,

This update improves overall stability and addresses issues with the automation of software instrument parameters, FireWire and USB based audio devices and Magic GarageBand.

I downloaded and installed the update with no problems. I use GarageBand to make ringtones for my iPhone that are installed using Ambrosia Software's iToner. No problems were encountered in making another ringtone. [Bill Fox]
