Faster Wireless Protocol Delayed
according to this Internet.Com article. The next 802.11 protocol, 802.11g, will have a speed of 54 mbps versus today's rate of 11 mbps, 802.11b, used in Apple's AirPort and other wireless networking. The meeting to further approve the protocol was scheduled for this week near Seattle but was delayed to the November meeting because of the effects of the terrorist attacks last week on airline travel.
