Follow Up--Quake III Arena v1.29f Beta for Mac OS X

We noted yesterday that this update is now available for download. The frame rate of 36-37 fps that we get with the timed demo on our 533DP running a new GeForce3 card at 1280x1024 on a Samsung 17" LCD is consistent with the more extensive set of values posted yesterday on Accelerate Your Mac so I guess they are correct. Still, The Campgrounds demo clip appears to our eye to run much faster than that. One reason for the lower frame rate is that the GeForce3 graphics card is running on the older GeForce2 MX drivers in Mac OS X 10.0.3. Last night there were still only 770 servers, up from 102 the night before, and all were full except for a few with very high pings. There are over 3000 servers running the previous point release, 1.27. We noted yesterday that there are revised maps. Several of the weapons have revised effects as well and network operations have been made more efficient, helping 56K modem players.
