Microsoft's new game machine with a hard drive and 733 MHz Intel processor hit the stores Wednesday night. The official opening is midnight at the Times Square Toys 'R' Us store in New York City. Bill Gates will greet the buyer of the first Xbox and will be on hand to play games on it according to this Yahoo article. The Xbox will compete with Sony's PlayStation 2 and Nintendo's GameCube for the standalone game box market.
