From the Dark Side--M$ Penalty Rift?

While the Justice Department served notice that it will not pursue reinstatement of Judge Jackson's penalty of breaking Microsoft into two companies, the Attorney's General for California and New York may despite what the Justice Department does according to this News.Com article. The Justice Department will pursue sanctions to try to prevent illegal monopolistic behavior as the quickest and surest path to resolve the case. However, we wonder how effective such an approach could be when M$ still admits no wrong doing and it's CEO Steve Ballmer has stated publicly that he does not even know what a monopoly is. The CA and NY AG's are keeping their options open. [Dana Baggett]
