Microsoft to End $400 MSN Rebate Used in Bogus Pricing of PCs

according to this digitalMASS article. You've seen it. A PC's price is advertised for some ridiculously low figure including being "free" and the fine print states that's the "price" after a $400 rebate on an internet contract that costs in the neighborhood of $700-1000 more than the advertised price of the computer. M$ should be applauded for ending this deceptive practice but it's doing so simply because the rebate has cost M$ too much money. [Dana Baggett]
