From Jeff Leigh, "I was able to watch most of the keynote without any problems over our corporate network. I had a few of the audio sync problems and a few times the stream got so bad the whole image was pixelated. Reducing the bandwidth setting from the Intranet/LAN to the T1 and restarting the stream seemed to help most of the time. It's hard to say where the network problems were, but they very well could be on my end and not Apple's."

From Bob Unger, "Watched Jobs' Keynote from home in N. VA with an iMac DV SE (500 MHz--384MB built-in RAM--VM "On" and set to 385MB) and QT 4.1.3 with 20MB of memory allocated. Initial modem connect speed was 48K bps. Connected roughly 30 minutes before the scheduled Keynote start time. Was extremely well satisfied with video and audio quality. Infrequently the audio and/or video would cut out for a few seconds but a reconnect was never required. Was quite surprised to hear that another N. VA reader had numerous problems with his T-3 connection. My experience from home was just the opposite...very positive, much like Dana Baggett's."

From Bob Patterson, "I watched on a 9600/300 (G3 500) with a 56k US Robotics Sportster, via AOL at an indicated 50.6 kbps and QuickTime 5 Prev 1. I had to reinstall QT because I had upgraded to Prev 2 but like my prior experience with QT 4.1+, it wouldn't stream. It got to the buffering and quit, no message, no nothing. Just flat quit running.

So I pulled the Extensions and reran the Preview 1 installer. Now, we connected. My early experience was horrible--lousy video, lousy broken sound, many freezes (and relaunches of the URL as a result) and dropouts and places where the video froze for a minute but the sound went on OK. We missed the first 15 mins reinstalling QT, then maybe had 15-20 mins with the problems, then got most of the rest of the 2 hours with good sound by and large, and OK video when it wasn't paused on an image for 10-30 seconds.

Wonder how many got this feed? Is the quality a function of the demand? This was the FIRST time I have been able to watch it. Times past, servers were overloaded and then, QT wouldn't stream anyway. So I was pleased but boy this QT streaming has a LONG way to go!"
