TaxCut Deluxe for Mac OS 9 and X
[Updated] TurboTax 2001 Kentucky State on Floppy? From Eric Grubb,
"Following good end-of year tax advice, I bought the 2001 TurboTax for Mac which includes 'Free State Tax' software. Turns out you have to buy it for $29.95, then get a rebate. Here's the problem:
"I want to get the Kentucky state version for 2001, and find that it's only available on a FLOPPY! This is outrageous, as Apple hasn't produced a computer with a relic floppy drive for over 3 years now.
"Of course, I could find someone with an ancient Mac and burn it to a CD, but why can't Intuit keep up with its customers' needs? What's the problem with a 1.4 MB download, anyway?
"PS: Do you think a USB floppy drive will be tax deductible now that I need it to do my taxes?"
[Update] Dana Baggett points out that while Intuit's web site lists the Kentucky State return as being available only on a floppy in the "Select a media" menu, the TurboTax 2001 Deluxe application lists Kentucky as downloadable. This is also true for Virginia which is listed on Intuit's web site as available only on a CD.
