ATI Radeon 9000 Pro and 9700 and Remote Wonder
ATI has two new graphics cards in the works for the Mac. The Radeon 9000 Pro will have 64 MB DDR RAM and performance similar to the current high end Radeon 8500 but it will have ADC and DVI connectors. The 9000 will be the first retail graphics card to have an ADC connector for Apple's recent displays. The DVI connector will allow two digital monitors to be used and may be used with a cable to a VGA monitor or a DVI-ADC adaptor for a second ADC monitor. The 9000 for the Mac was on display and will be out in the Fall for under $200. There is a buy now button for the Mac version on ATI's web store but only the PC version is listed.
The Radeon 9700 will use a new graphics CPU and will be the performance leader in the 3D grahics accelerator market according to ATI. It will have 128 MB of DDR RAM and the same dual digital connectors as the 9000. It is expected by the end of the year and at a price of $400-500.
The Remote Wonder is a remote controller like your TV remote control except that it controls your Mac remotely. It was also being demoed but is expected to be out for the Mac this fall for around $50.
