New Features on Apple's New Power Macs
MacMinute got it right Monday evening when they posted some features (dual CPU speed, graphics and prices) of the new Power Macs 
that Apple released yesterday (press release). However, there are some additional features details that distinguish the new Power Macs from their predecessors. The case is pretty much the same as the one introduced with the Blue & White Power Mac G3 three years ago but it reinstates two external drive doors missing in the most recent QuickSilver case. Other salient new features are:

Other salient new features are:
- 167 MHz system bus in the top 2 models, up from 133 MHz
- PC2700 DDR SDRAM in the top 2 models vs PC133 SDR SDRAM
- ATA-100/AT-66 IDE hard drive controllers, supporting 4 internal drives
The new Power Macs are more than just a speed bump. They utilize technology used in Apple's Xserve servers. The dual 867 MHz to 1.2 GHz models represent great value for new Mac buyers and significant upgrades for early Power Mac G4 owners. For those who really neeed the speed, they blow away a 2.53 GHz Pentium 4 Wintel in Photoshop operations (see Apple's graph above).
