What is .Net?

No one seems to know for sure but this PC World article strangely encourages Apple to join up with Microsoft .Net to ensure Macs are not isolated in the enterprise environment. If the past is any indicator, about the only things for sure regarding .Net are that Microsoft will deviate significantly from generally accepted standards, tie it to their operating system monopoly with a Gordian knot and fill it with security holes so wide that organized crime bosses will chortle with delight.
