Apple Announced AirPort Extreme Sales of 150,000+ Products

in this press release. Note that the release says "products" not Base Stations as some other web sites are reporting. "Products" includes standalone AirPort Extreme cards as well as those that come with some PowerBook models. Still, the sales level of gear using the new 802.11g protocol is very impressive, especially since it's not final yet. Extreme (802.11g) uses the same 2.4 GHz frequency as WiFi (802.11b) and is backward compatible with it. [Dana Baggett]
