Apple Beats Financial Expections by 67% and Revenues Rise 8%
, from $1.475 billion to $1.545 billion, indicators of a very good quarter under current economic circumstances in the technology sector according to Apple's press release and webcast financial report. Analysts expected a profit of 3 cents per share while actual profits were 5 cents per share with a small third quarter profit of $19 million. While profits have been small, Apple has remained profitable throughout the economic downturn.

The only real dark spot is a continuing decline in Power Mac sales. The Power Mac sales decline should be ending with the introduction of the new G5s.
Retail store revenues continued to increase, rising from $135 million last quarter to $145 million in the third quarter.
By region, Noth American unit sales increased 34% over last quarter while unit sales in Japan and Europe decreased about 20%.
All things considered, this is a good financial report.
