Not every pre-order will be delivered on Friday, 10/24. Reader Stephen Heller reported that he ordered a Panther (Mac OS X 10.3) upgrade for his Power Mac G5 through the Mac Up-to-Date Program by phone as the program requires. He was told it would not ship until Friday, 10/24, and that the $19.95 upgrade CD would reach him in 3 business days after shipping, i.e. the following Tuesday, 10/28, at the earliest.
