Safari Day 1 Report

So far Apple's new web browser Safari is working like a champ with one exception. We have frequent problems with Netscape Messenger rendering a page now and then. In particular, clicking the Inbox button almost always gives a blank screen. New messages frequently fail to be sent. We're using the "Bug Button" to report this to Apple.

The "snap back" button is really cool. No matter how many pages you get away from the original page by clicking on embeded hyperlinks, the orange snap back button sends you right back to the base or original web page. We like that.

There are several features that we hope Apple will implement. We've gotten used to tabbed browsing in Netscape, Mozilla and Chimera and really miss its efficiency. In addition, we miss the password management feature of those three applications. We also miss the "Send Page" feature.

Some people miss the integrated emailer in Netscape but we don't find that using the Dock to switch between Safari and X Mail is any real difference.
