iDVD 3 Still Requires a Mac with an Internal SuperDrive
This was not mentioned in the keynote but it is clearly stated on the iDVD 3 web page.
System Requirements
To run iDVD 3 you need a SuperDrive equipped iMac, eMac, Power Mac G4, or PowerBook G4 running Mac OS X v 10.1.5 or later (v 10.2.2 or later recommended) and at least 256 MB of RAM.
It hardly makes sense for iDVD 3 to be packaged as iLife in a retail box. It would make more sense if just an upgrade CD were available rather than a full-blown retail package. We know Apple wants to encourage buying new Macs but a retail package of iLife usable on any Mac for $99-$149 would bring in additional revenue.
