WiFi (AirPort) at US Rail Stations Getting Closer
according to this AP article in Yahoo News. Amtrak has signed a deal with AT&T Wireless for WiFi service in 6 stations: Boston's Route 128 Station; Providence, R.I.; New York Penn Station; Philadelphia's 30th Street Station; Wilmington, Del.; and Baltimore's Penn Station.
Unfortunately, we've had trouble connecting to AT&T Wireless networks, most recently in the Denver airport running Mac OS X 10.3.2 (AirPort 3.3) in a 17" PowerBook G4. Trying to connect returned something like "There was an error connecting to the network"--not very informative.
WiFi on rails in Europe is under consideration by Eurostar according to this CNet article. [Dana Baggett]
