Apple Q2 Financial Report Blows Away Consensus Estimates by 42 Per Cent
Apple reported its best second quarter ever in a profit of $290 million and earnings of $0.34 per share on revenue of $3.24 billion.
Compared with Q2 of 2004, revenue was up 70% and sales of units were up 43%. Revenue and sales of units were up in all geographic regions. The retail store sales were up 115% in revenue and 106% in units.

All products increased, the iPod phenomenally, except for the Power Mac and Xserve category. Hopefully, we will see a refresh of the Power Mac lineup soon that will arrest the continuing decline. But unfortunately, starting with Q3 Apple will report Mac sales by just two product categories, desktops and laptops. [Bill Fox]
