Mozilla Released Firefox 1.5.0.2 and 1.0.8 and Sea Monkey 1.0.1 for Mac OS X

The Mozilla Foundation released updates of its Firefox and Sea Monkey all-in-one suite Web browsers for the Mac:

Firefox 1.5.0.2 provides native support for Macintosh with Intel Core processors, and stability and security enhancements that are part of our ongoing program to provide a safer Internet experience for our users. We recommend that all Firefox users upgrade to this latest version.

Here's what's new in Firefox 1.5.0.2:

• Universal Binary support for Mac OS X which provides native support for Macintosh with Intel Core processors. Firefox supports the enhancements to performance introduced by the new MacIntel chipsets.

Firefox 1.0.8 is a security and stability release. We strongly recommend that all users upgrade to this latest version. Firefox 1.0.8 is the last release in the 1.0.x series.

This version includes several security and stability fixes, including a fix for a reported buffer overflow vulnerability and a fix for a Linux shell command vulnerability.

We have downloaded and used Firefox 1.5.0.2 and Sea Monkey 1.0.1 for several hours and have run into no problems with either update. They appear to work very well on our iMac Core Duo and MacBook Pro. [Dana Baggett & Bill Fox]
