Apple Released DVD Playback Update 4.6.1

The update is available via the System Preferences Software Update pane and as a standalone file from this Apple Web page. According to Apple,

DVD Playback Update 4.6.1 addresses a disc validation issue some users may encounter when attempting to play a disc for the first time with DVD Player 4.6. This update is recommended for all users of DVD Player 4.6.

We installed the update on a number of Macs running Mac OS X 10.4.1 with DVD 4.6 without problem. We have not encountered the disc validation issue that this update fixes. [Bill Fox]
