FREE 30-day T-Mobile Wi-Fi Trial for .Mac Members

As a .Mac member, one can now enjoy wireless broadband away from home with a free 30-Day Trial of the T–Mobile HotSpot Wi–Fi service. Available in the U.S. through June 29, 2005, this offer allows one to get full access to the Internet at over 5000 U.S. HotSpot locations: Starbucks coffeehouses, FedEx Kinko's Office and Print Centers, Borders Books & Music, airports, Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, and select airline clubs and Red Roof Inn locations. If one akso signs up for an annual suscription at $29.99 per month, one gets 20 free songs from Apple's iTunes Music Store.

We signed up for the 30-day free trial since we use T-Mobile occasionally at airports for $6 an hour. All we had to supply was our name, email address and zip code. An activation serial number arrived by email. The 30 days begin counting down after activation (first use) and the trial must be activated before 1/31/06. After 30 days it expires with no strings attached, i.e. unlike "free" magazines there is no need to cancel the service. [Bill Fox]
