Mac OS X 10.4.x "Tiger" Recognizes Sony Mavica CD1000 Digital Cameras--Finally
When Apple moved to Mac OS X, Sony Mavica CD1000 owners were left unsupported. Sony was not producing any software to make OS X read the mini CDs written by the CD1000. No one was producing any such software. Periodically, I'd look for something, but nothing surfaced. One man contacted me almost a year ago, asking if I had any luck getting OS X to read the CD1000's CDs. At that time, I told him no. Well, [he] didn't forget, and just recently found through Google an indication that Tiger (Mac OS 10.4) could read the CDs from the CD1000. He ordered and installed Tiger and let me know that his previously-abandoned Mavica CD1000 was no longer abandoned. He could read the Mavica's CDs. But that's not all. He could connect the camera by USB, and Tiger would recognize the CD inside the camera! Like me, he was very pleased with the quality of the Mavica's image quality. Kudo's to Apple for making the world's best personal computer operating system!
