NewerTech miniStack with an iMac G5

Yesterday's review of NewerTech's terrific miniStack external hard drive for the Mac mini encouraged Charles Gaba to share his use of a miniStack with his 20" iMac G5. Charles wrote:

Just read your review of the OWC miniStack.

As it happens, I just hooked one of these (the 320 GB model) up, not to a Mac mini, but to my 20” Rev. B iMac G5.

As you can see, if you turn the unit sideways, it fits perfectly right under the iMac; the metal base is the perfect size for it to sit on, with just enough clearance room for ventilation and to adjust the iMac if necessary.

Plus, while the FW/USB cables were too long for your taste, they’re actually the perfect length to reach the ports on the iMac G5 (and actually, on the new iSight Rev C models, I believe the ports are across the bottom, which means this should work with the non-OWC models of these combo devices as well).

Just thought you’d find this use interesting.

Also, as you probably figured, the pre-installed hard drive versions fit better than your case-only version; no bulging, etc. on mine.
