Montage 1.1 Public Beta (Universal)--Scriptwriter for Mac OS X

Mariner Software released the public beta version of Montage 1.1, the only screenwriting software developed exclusively for Mac OS X. This is the product's first significant update since its initial release earlier in the year. Version 1.1 introduces several feature additions, such as:

* New! Production style scene numbering.
* New! .mac integration.
* Significant improvements in importing Final Draft® and text scripts.
* Improved SmartType system.
* New! Assignable Keywords.

The Mac community is invited to download the public beta Montage 1.1 and make suggestions or submit bug reports. A full description of the 1.1 feature list and current outstanding issues can also be found on the beta page above.

Montage makes it easy to create, edit, and manage screenplays on a Macintosh. From the ability to import Final Draft or text documents, to using custom, pre-formatted templates for film, TV, and theater, to the time-saving Smart Views, Montage guides both the first time screenwriter or the seasoned veteran, from start to finish.

Once a script is complete, Montage allows the user the ability to submit, track, and send a query, synopsis, and scripts to hundreds of included industry contacts through Montage's integration with Apple's Address Book.

The shipping version of Montage 1.1 will sell for $139.95 but will be a free upgrade for all 1.0 customers. Montage 1.1 is expected to ship next month at the Macworld Expo in San Francisco. [Bill Fox]
