From the Dark Side--Harris Poll Confirms Tepid Windows Vista Sales

A Harris Poll conducted March 6-14 found only 3 per cent of PC systems with Vista installed after 6 weeks of availability, according to a Computerworld article. And worse, of the people polled, only 12 percent said they planed to upgrade to Vista in the next 12 months. Of those planning to upgrade, 48 percent stated that they would upgrade their current PC while only 31 percent said the upgrade would be via purchasing a new PC, down from 35 percent of those polled in December.

Milton Ellis, vice president of Harris' technology group stated, "Microsoft will have to put forth a value proposition that will move the majority to the upgrade category in the years ahead."
