More Schools load up on Macs

"Lake Elementary School is the pilot school in Ascension Parish for Apple Inc.'s national "Turn On To Learning" (TOTL) program, a voluntary research and development program for sixth-grade students to help the state of Louisiana expand its "one-to-one" learning initiative of having one computer for each student." "Sonrise's Covina campus received 30 new Apple iMac computers with 20-inch screens in their computer lab. These replaced old and outdated Windows-based computers. The Covina campus also has new "smartboards," a digital chalkboard. The San Dimas location received a mobile computer lab, complete with 30 new Apple MacBook laptops, printers and wireless connectivity from class to class. Additionally, the school is in the process of updating its network to support, among other things, video streaming for student projects." [California]
