According to an Austin American-Statesman article citing Apple's latest public SEC filing, PowerComputing was losing money during the final two quarters of Mac OS licensing negotiations and CEO Steven Kahng began negotiating to sell Power to Apple much earlier than press reports indicated. Kahng initially asked $125 million plus paying off $25 million of Power's debt.
