Apple reached a deal with CompUSA to upgrade the computer "super" store's dilapidated Mac sections to a store-within-a-store floor plan throughout the US. This is what MicroCenter has in Northern Virginia and it is very effective. Aside from poor presentation and item availability, the two CompUSA's that I am most familiar with (Tyson's Corner, VA, and San Diego, CA) have no personnel in or even near the present Mac section and when an employee is finally cornered, they know nothing about Macs. This may change but there are other excellent large and small alternatives already.
