Decision One's mishandling
From reader Todd Stoneking, here's his experience with Decision One's mishandling of a warranty repair on his PowerBase 180:
"Just wanted to let you and the readers know what a fiasco it is getting my computer fixed. I have a PowerBase 180 that has the speaker whine and sometimes I have to reset the ram, L2, and the CPU to get the machine to boot. I sent it to D1 to get it repaired. They sent it back to me saying nothing was wrong with it. Was I furious. Plus I found two of my case thumbscrews in the bottom of the box. I'm now in the process of sending it back again and not really liking that idea to much. Right now the machine will not boot without unless the system CD is in. I'm going to send it to them like that and show them that I was not making this stuff up. All they did the first time was see if the machine booted fine and a couple of other checks. That was it. Until they get familiar with Power's machines, its going to be a nasty experience for a lot of us."
