Harder hardball
Harder hardball: Austin 360: Tech reports that this week PowerComputing will ship its super-fast PowerTower Pro PC 740/750 systems based on the 250-275 Mhz G3 CPUs without Apple certification since Apple has refused to consider certifying them. I'm sure that both companies could assert breach of contract. Furthermore, Apple has limited the Mac OS Up-To-Date program to only Apple computers in a revision of its site late yesterday. The site says, however, that Mac clone purchasers who placed orders for Mac OS 8 postmarkedbefore August 1st (that's not a typo) would be honored. Apple claims that the program applied only to Mac OS 7.6.
