MacInTouch (8/25) carried a reader report that the PowerMac 4400, based on the Tanzania motherboards used by many of the Mac cloners, has been axed and that a mail order sell-off at ~$1,000 is near. The 6400, based on the Alchemy motherboard used by PowerComputing PowerBases and UMAX 500/600's has already been axed by Apple.
