MacWEEK reported that Apple Remote Access v3.0 will be out "...by the end of August." It will have a new interface (Gee, where have I seen that before?) and make PPP (Ah, yes. OT/PPP!) connections.

Earlier this week I decided to increase my PowerBase 180's speed by exchanging my stock 256K L2 cache for a 512K module from The Chip Merchant for $90. It arrived today and is manufactured by IDT. I have Motorola's LibMoto installed and here are the MacBench 4.0 results:

256K Cache: CPU=282, FPU=342
512K Cache: CPU=321, FPU=360
I got a 14% increase in processor speed and a 5% increase in floating point (math) speed with the increased cache. Was it worth it...?
