Will Apple Focus On The Simple Computing Frontier Again?

-- According to NEWS.COM and other reports, Apple will not spin off Newton. This continues hints at a major effort by Apple to return to its successful foundation of making computing simple "for the rest of us." I noted in my January 1997 editorial that Apple seemed to have lost this path in recent years, heading towards the Wintels and becoming more complex. The exploration of the "NetMac" is another effort in this direction but for corporate task-based computing.
