Be Warned!

Reader Daniel Parker wrote that Symantec's Norton Disk Doctor v3.5 destroyed the data on an HFS+ formatted drive. He bought a new 6500 for his daughter, loaded on Mac OS 8.1, loaded the applications and, not knowing about the problem, ran NDD 3.5 bought the same time with the sad consequence of losing everything.

MacHack '98 is coming up in June!

Spotted on Version Tracker, UMAX updated its scanner software, VistaScan v2.4 (15 MB). There was something wrong with the server again when I tried to download it last night. I got about 2/3'rds of the file before it quit and then I couldn't get it to finish or start a new download.
