E-Mail Recovered!

Frequent Macs Only! readers will remember that last weekend I "lost" the last two months of my email managed by Netscape Communicator 4.04's Messenger. The problem was indeed a corrupted index file "inbox.snm". I opened the "Inbox" with BBEdit Lite 4.01 and all the "missing" messages were there. I trashed the "inbox.snm" file in Netscape's Preference folder, launched NC 4.04, opened the Inbox, a new "inbox.snm" file was created in a few minutes and the "missing" messages re-appeared. I've responded to all who wrote last weekend before the loss. Many thanks to the many readers who responded with suggestions, especially to those suggesting a corrupted "inbox.snm" file.
