Yesterday, I received the Village Tronic 3D Overdrive module to the Mac Picasso 540 graphics card that Macs Only! reviewed on Monday. It has two 3Dfx Voodoo chips and an additional 8 MB of RAM. Quake 3Dfx and Myth run great and look marvelous. Stay tuned, a review will be posted in the next few days.

"My current hardware configuration is a 1.2 Gb internal drive (HFS) on a PB 5300ce and an external 3 Gb APS drive which I have formatted to HFS+. Everything was okay until I tried to use NDD 3.5.1 to diagnose a 3.5" 230 Mb optical disk. NDD got about 95% through the disk looking for bad blocks then all my desktop icons disappeared. A few seconds later the startup (interal) drive icon appears, but the external is now not able to be mounted and the optical disk is labelled as unrepairable! I was able to reformat the external and get it back, but the optical disk appears to be toast. Bummer..."
