Correction

The first look at PowerLogix's G4/350 CPU upgrade in a PowerBase 180 computer posted yesterday has been revised. The "Write Thru Mode" setting for the backside cache had been inadvertantly enabled while obtaining the original lower MacBench 5.0 and BYTEmark scores. In addition, enabling all of Mac OS 9 and third party system extensions normally used had a much greater effect on scores than with previous OS versions. The scores below (yesterday) have been updated for "Write Thru Mode" set off and Mac OS 9 Base extensions only enabled. These G4 CPU and FPU scores are consistent with scores obtained with G3 and G4 CPUs of similar MHz in other tests.
