More Mac Emigration

From a reader who wishes to remain anonymous, "... it seems that Poudre School District in Fort Collins, CO is having their office managers at each and every single school migrate from Macs to PC. The reason? To get a new finance program. I am not surprised, however. This town has slowly migrated from Mac to PC. In the past ten years 2 Mac-centric stores have either closed or stopped being Apple retailers: the University Technolgy Store, where I got my LC 520 and my Performa 6214, closed down on the CSU campus 4 years ago and another store whose name is escaping me. Even worse, a brand new Apple only store, Media Place, had its grand opening a month ago, and what did they have for sale? 12 used Macs and zero new Macs, but plenty of USB stuff. 2 weeks ago they received one, yes ONE, tangerine imac DV. Oy!"

This bad news follows on the note posted Wednesday that the same thing is about to happen for the whole Prince Georges County, Maryland, school system. If anyone wants to write a nice, informative letter to the PGC school system about the benefits of the Mac to education and its low total cost of ownership, here is the email address of the Board of Education.
