New iMac Audio/Speaker Issue

Dana Baggett is having the motherboard replaced on his brand new iMac 350 today. After shutting down, some times well after, the speakers would emit noises. The only way that they could be stopped is if the power cord were disconnected. According to his Authorized Apple Service Center, this is a known problem and a motherboard replacement is the only fix.
