Speeding Up iMac's Cache And CVGS

Also from Chris Adamson, "Last night, I used the XLR8 MACh Speed G3 Cache Control to see if boosting the speed of the backside cache on my iMac would improve CVGS performance. Upping the cache speed to 155 MHz does wonders for small applications -- my e-mail client, Musashi 3.0.6, screams through my incoming mail when it's not crashing the MacOS (which it did before installing MACh Speed, too) -- but it seems to offer much more limited benefits to larger apps, such as web browsers, word processors, and unfortunately, CVGS. The frame rate of troublesome CVGS games like "Brave Fencer Musashi" and "Colony Wars Vengeance" seems somewhat improved, but still clearly slower on CVGS 1.2 than CVGS 1.1, still the fastest-playing of the CVGS releases."
