Where's Sears?

Dana Baggett noted that in his area of Maine Sears is not listed among Apple Dealers on Apple's web site. Same here in Northern Virginia. All readers who have written Macs Only! have mentioned that their local Sears store still has no iMacs. For example, from Tony Kyzer,

"While at my local Sears (Scranton, PA) I inquired about the possibility of them selling iMacs in the future. I was told that it was "Probably unlikely" by the sales clerk. Being a sales clerk myself, I know that the people on the selling floor usually are the last to know when products come in...."

And from Andrew Koran,

"I have about the same observation of the Sears store here in Reno, no iMacs as of yet and the sales staff is not well informed as to the benefits of the iMac. When I asked about the Macs they responded by commenting on why are we carrying a computer made by a company that is about to go out of business...

Further, when discussing software issues, I remarked in response to "not much software available", that just how many word processors does one really need. I comes with a good all purpose unit and you can always get Office 98 for the Mac. To which I got..."Microsoft only publishes software for PeeCees...It will not run on a Mac, besides that's Office 2000!"...
