Apple Store/FedEx 2-Day(tm) Delivery a Joke?
FedEx has even trademarked the term "2-Day". Unfortunately, it is a misnomer. We paid extra, albeit a measly $10, for FedEx 2-Day(tm) delivery of a new G4 Cube. Apple sent an email stating that the Cube had "shipped" on Wednesday, 8/9. Well, according to the FedEx tracking system, it wasn't even picked up by them until 1:38p PT on August 10th, a day later, and it didn't even leave Oakland, CA, until August 11th another day later. FedEx's trademarked 2-day delivery took 2 days to get from Apple's California warehouse to a plane in Oakland to leave California! And then where did it go? Well, certainly not Baltimore-Washington, Washington National (Reagan) or Virginia's Dulles International, all of the airports near Silver Spring, MD, where the Cube is headed. The answer is Newark, NJ, at 6pm ET. Will FedEx be able to get the Cube from Newark to Silver Spring by Monday, i.e. in 3 MORE days for a total of 5, with its erroneously named but still trademarked 2-Day(tm) service? Stay tuned.
