[9:00p 3/25] Updated--Microsoft Offered to Settle Antitrust Lawsuit according to two reliable Macs Only! sources, the ABC Evening News and The Washington Post. According to ABC the reported terms are Microsoft admits no guilt, accepts appropriate fines and penalties, submits to some Federal supervision and makes certain Windows code publicly available. A breakup is not in the offer, of course, as ABC reported that the Justice Department has backed off that demand to make some room for a settlement. Here is ABC's web site story. The Washington Post reported that a written offer had been faxed to the Justice Department but did not include the details. Stay tuned!
